Dear Friends and Supporters,
On the foundation’s first quarter meeting of the 2018/19 fiscal year that was held this past September, the board of directors had the pleasure of adding to the Fregenet Board of Directors Kedest Habtu, who has a wide variety of professional experience and a compassionate heart for helping underserved children of Ethiopia.
Kedest Habtu was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She immigrated to Los Angeles approximately 28 years ago and has lived there ever since. Kedest has been in the banking profession for over 20 years in various roles. She is currently Vice President, Branch Manager at JPMorgan Chase Bank.
In her current role at JPMorgan Chase, Kedest is involved in mentoring, coaching and inspiring employees towards achieving high sales, sourcing new business, and providing superior customer service. Part of her duties include recruiting top talent. She has developed and cultivated long term customer relationships and supported many employees towards reaching their potential. Kedest is a graduate of the Los Angeles Central Leadership program and is a Certified Mentor for Branch Managers and Assistant Manager Trainees.
Kedest often volunteers her time in charitable services such as Heal the Bay (an environmental nonprofit dedicated to making the coastal waters and watersheds of Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy and clean). She also engages in activities that promote a healthy lifestyle, recently completing a 39 mile Avon Breast Cancer Walk. In addition, Kedest has passion for photography, traveling and arts and crafts.
When back in her country of origin, Kedest likes to takes time to visit schools and students in underserved communities in Ethiopia to support early, primary, middle and higher education.
