Dear Friends and Supporters,
If you ask any parent, they will tell you the health of their child is their number one priority. We, at Fregenet Kidan Lehitsanat School, take that concern seriously. Our commitment to the kids extends beyond providing education. In addition to our standard educational programs, we make every effort to oversee and tend to their overall health and well-being. To that end, we have on boarded the services of a number of volunteer health professionals.
Dear friends, as we have done in the past, this year, the annual health check-up was conducted on March 4th, 2023. With the help of our volunteer pediatricians, Dr,Tewabech Bellege, Dr.Selam Bisrat and Dr. Mulualem Nigussie, we have successfully conducted our annual health check- up in the school compound.
Our pediatricians were able to:
• assess the children’s nutritional status and growth.
• evaluate their overall mental and physical wellness.
• prescribe medications as needed.
• address any queries parents had about their child’s health.
Those that needed additional laboratory and/or imaging investigations were referred to Sante Medical Center, which, graciously, provides those tests free of charge for our students.
As in previous years, the school was able to pay for and, with the help of our volunteer nursing staff, have distributed the prescribed medications to the appropriate student.
We are immensely grateful to our own Dr. Kalkidan Alachaw, for her indefatigable coordination, to all our volunteer health professionals, Sante Medical Center and all the generous donors who have made this day possible. With their help, we will continue to strive and make each day a better day and a better world for our kids.
