Dear Friends and Supporters,
On August 10, we were privileged to attend Empower the Community Weekend in Washington D.C. The event which attracts attendees from surrounding areas and beyond was filled with activities, vendors, prominent speakers and individuals who came to meet new people and be exposed to what a strong community has to offer.

Kedest Habtu, our board member and founder Tafesse Woubshet were on hand to spread the news of Fregenet Foundation. It was a nice surprise to hear a few individuals that came to our table with knowledge of what we do. The host of this fabulous event Helen Mesfin of EBS TV came and briefly interviewed us, which may just be the highlight of our trip.

This event brings forth the strength of coming together for causes that benefit ourselves but more importantly others. Empower truly provides a platform for individuals to strengthen their voice, firm up their vision and forge towards their goal. As Fregenet ventures into the Bishoftu project, our involvement with this event was timely.
We came back empowered!
