Dear Friends and Supporters,
September 14, 2015 (Meskerem 3rd, 2008) marked the beginning of the new academic year at Fregenet Kidan Lehitsanat. The school opened the new season by accepting a new group of 30 four years-old kids in its preschool class. It is therefore with a sense of joy, optimism and promise that we at the Fregent Kidan Lehitsanat welcomed the New Year and the new school season and we take this auspicious moment to wish all our esteemed donors and supporters a Happy Ethiopian New Year. May the year 2008 bring you all peace, joy, love and fulfillment.
At the same time, we would like to update you with some of the developments in the school over the last few months. During the off-school season in August 2015, the school was working on the maintenance of its classrooms, compound fence, kitchen, water tanker and recreational equipment, which was properly completed in time.
The Fregenet School was also finalizing the process of recruiting the most vulnerable and underprivileged children from the surrounding community to join its kindergarten class. We would also like to announce to you that our first batch of students who started schooling from kindergarten 11 years ago are now in grade 10 and ready for matriculation at the end of the school season in June 2016. With the new addition of the 30 children, Fregenet Kidan Lehitsanat has now a total student population of 341, who are provided with basic education and all other necessities such as uniform, books, stationery, breakfast and lunch, all for free.
