Dear Friends and Supporters,

The above quote tells a universal truth that underlies the story of how the Fregenet Foundation was created – the sudden loss of a daughter, the darkness of a father\’s grief followed by his commitment to carry out his only child’s dream of supporting the development of children in her native Ethiopia.

A decade later, an effort that was started out with a handful of students in a makeshift classroom, has flourished into an energetic, dynamic and established school serving children from underserved communities in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. What makes this foundation unique and unparalleled is, not only its academic efficacy in preparing the students for middle and high school, but a commitment to eliminating financial and physical barriers to education including nutrition and health care needs.

The transparency exercised by the Fregenet board continues to make it a standout non-profit organization. Whether giving updates to the public on the school\’s successes, narrating specific student’s journeys or providing annual reports for all to view, the Fregenet Foundation is truly a testament to how with a dream and a passion we can all impact our world one child at a time.

This summer, we at the Fregenet board are starting a tradition we hope will grow into a phenomenon. At a venue to be disclosed soon, we will be hosting a Family Fun Day filled with activities for children, an art auction, food, games, a fit-a-thon, entertainment and much more. We look forward to your participation, contribution, and support towards the important work the Fregenet Foundation continues to do. The future depends on what we do with children today!
