July 27, 2016
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As you may remember, in May 2016 we launched a fundraiser through GlobalGiving for a project entitled “Literacy Training for 370 needy children in Ethiopia.” Phase I of this campaign has been partially completed by fulfilling GlobalGiving’s requirement that we raise at least $5,000. We are enormously grateful to all of you for your generous contributions, which allowed us to partially complete the first phase!
Because we raised more than $5,000 in Phase I of our campaign, GlobalGiving will allow us to proceed to Phase II. However, our status will remain an “emerging organization” because we are still five donors short of meeting GlobalGiving’s additional requirement that the $5,000 be raised from 40 unique donors. Importantly, until we break the 40-donor threshold, we will not be able to tap into GlobalGiving’s large pool of donors.
From Phase I of the fundraising campaign, GlobalGiving has already transferred $5438.50 including matching funds and prize money in to our account after the 15% GlobalGiving service charge is assessed.
The total cost of our project is $63,600, as we explained in the project proposal spreadsheet posted on GlobalGiving website, and we have raised $5,150 to date with $58,450 remaining to go. We hope to reach our goal soon through Phase II of the fundraising program once we completely fulfill the minimum requirements.
July 27, 2016 is a bonus day, so we highly encourage everyone to go online immediately and donate at the following link! https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/training-preschool-for-360-needy-children-in-ethiopia/
Thank you very much
