26.2 miles for the children at the Fregenet Kidan Lehitsanat School in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia! GOBEZ!

Fregenet Foundation leaders and supporters are warming up, once again, to run the LA Marathon on March 20, 2011. You can join them in the run or sponsor them as they raise money to strengthen and support the Fregenet Kidan Lehitsanat School, a primary school that provides free lessons, books, meals, health care, and community support to some of the neediest children in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Abeba.

Author Chris Kurtz is flying down from Portland to Los Angeles, as he did last year, to run with Elizabeth, Asmeret, Hezkeal, and Tafesse, among others, and raise funds for the Foundation. Last year was Chris’s first marathon and he is back for more: being part of the surge of 25,000+ runners and at the same time supporting the Fregenet Foundation.

To support the runners, you can donate directly through the charity website Crowdrise (www.crowdrise.com/fregenetfoundation). Supporters have already started sending their donations through this site. If you would rather send a check, you can find a sponsorship sign-up form at our web site (www.fregenetfoundation.org); donations are always welcome at:
