Dear Friends and supporters,
To say our 15th year anniversary celebration was an unmatched success is an understatement. Our expectation was surpassed, our hearts filled with joy and our soul is still teeming with gratitude. Our long-time supporters, friends, and new acquaintances, came to share in this milestone. While enjoying the night marked with cultural show, dinner and festivities, our collective goal of serving the comprehensive needs of children in under served communities in Ethiopia wasn’t far from our sight.
As we start the journey towards the next 15, 20, 30 years, it is affirming to know we have gained more friends who will become extended families to our children that we educate back home. Our numbers have grown with many that share in that eternal dream; education is the only way forward in realizing one’s full potential. It is with this belief that we leap into our next grand plan, knowing through your support, financial contribution, sponsorship of various programs, the Bishoftu project will be opening its doors to children and families sooner rather than later.
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” Such powerful words but yet the simplicity of having a purposeful life can be captured by helping young children go to school, play with friends, gain some knowledge and ensure their basic human right is respected.
Our gratitude to those that volunteered their time, energy, idea, love and support is immense. We feel indebted to the kindness that was shown to us from so many that came from near and far. From the depth of our hearts, we thank you.
With Much Gratitude,
The Fregenet Foundation
