Dr. Hawani Negussie

Dr. Hawani Negussie has been in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education for over 20 years. She has served in various roles and responsibilities during her tenure and currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Care and Education at Brandman University, Part of Chapman University. Her experiences in the field began at UCLA’s Early Intervention Program where she worked under the guidance of lead experts in comprehensive educational approaches. The combination of typical and atypical learning environments, extensive trainings as an infant mental health specialist and her advanced degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, including her wide range of research looking at inclusive, culturally relevant pedagogy presents her as an invaluable addition to any organization.
