2014 Graduation event at Fregenet School

July 16, 2014

Dear Supporters,

Fregenet Kidan Lehitsanat School runs a preschool education program we call KG-1 and KG-II for children aged 4 and above while at the same time offering regular elementary school education from grades 1 through 4. On July 12, 2014, KG-II children and the 4th graders were honored for completing their kinder years and their first cycle education respectively.

Preschooler graduates will join grade l, while the 4th graders will be placed in nearby primary schools while continuing to receive resources afforded them by Fregenet School- meals, uniforms, notebooks, writing utensils and text books as well as medical care. The school is prepared to take in a new crop of 30 more students at KG-I, as the other grades all advance one level.

Once again congratulations to the KG-II and 4th grade graduates. We wish them all the best.

A month before the students\’ graduation, Fregenet School had a fundraising luncheon which was organized to support the feeding program of the school. It was held on May 15, 2014 at Eden Genet Menafesha Hall, which the owner kindly allowed us to use for free. Thanks to the determined effort exerted by the local board members in selling event tickets, the function was attended by over 200 supporters of Fregenet School.

The program included a traditional music band, presentation of various songs and a poetry reading by FKL students. Selected traditional artifacts were also sold to give a festive touch to the fund raising program.

The results from the fund raising function were very satisfactory. In addition to the financial contributions, the program gained an additional asset in winning us more supporters.

There have been amazing responses to the event and to the Fregenet Foundation here at home and abroad in the form of generous donations by organized groups, a government corporation, and youth volunteers from the organization known as Rotractors.
